Part Two of Living in a Post COVID-19 World: Navigating the Implications on Commercial and Residential Real Estate Laws in Light of the Pandemic

Part Two of Living in a Post COVID-19 World: Navigating the Implications on Commercial and Residential Real Estate Laws in Light of the Pandemic

AALASC and The House of Lebanon are hosting the second webinar from the series, Part Two of Living in a Post COVID-19 World: Navigating the Implications on Commercial and Residential Real Estate Laws in Light of the Pandemic, on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. (noon) via Zoom.

This month, panelists Rudy Salo, Esq. and Vanessa Haddad, Esq. will discuss the legal and economic implications of COVID-19 by exploring its current and future impact on landlords and tenants, development, and county infrastructure.

Among the serious economic concerns that many Americans face during the time of coronavirus, one of the most pressing is the need to continue paying rent despite facing a loss of income. This affects many businesses who must pay commercial rent, and individuals, many of whom are laid off or furloughed, who must continue to make rent or mortgage payments on their residences. State and local governments have passed some relief measures to ease the burden, but the details may confuse many of us [potential beneficiaries].

Other effects of COVID-19 are the impact on cities, public transportation, commuting and development. With the work from home movement being the norm for the past few months, what will residential and commercial development look like in the future?

Co-hosted by National Arab American Bar Association (NAABA), the Arab American Bar Association of Southern California (AALASC) and the Arab American Bar Association of Illinois (AABAI)

Due to the significant and growing impact the coronavirus has had on the workplace, businesses must balance a complex combination of issues to respond to and effectively manage workplace issues related to the coronavirus, including: the Families First COVID-19 Response Act (FFCRA), the CARES Act, shelter-in-place ordinances, paid sick leave laws, unemployment insurance, notice requirements, managing a remote workforce, and many of the fast-paced developments at the federal, state, and local levels.  Employers need to know what their responsibilities are, available resources, and recommended approaches.

Join the NAABA, AALASC and the AABAI for this 60-minute webinar, presented by Fisher Phillips attorneys Usama Kahf and Hannah Sweiss as they review some of the key issues and up-to-date news and recommendations for businesses. What policies and recommendations should employers put in place? What are an employer’s legal responsibilities and potential liabilities? How should employers deal with some of the difficult workplace issues raised by COVID-19? You'll learn answers to these questions and more during this important session.
