Hannah Sweiss is a partner at Fisher Phillips, a global law firm focused on Labor and Employment. Hannah is in Fisher Phillips’ Woodland Hills and Los Angeles offices and is the Co-Chair of the Firm's Healthcare Industry Group.
In the healthcare space, Hannah represents clients ranging from hospital systems to Fortune 100 companies. She has successfully saved healthcare clients millions of dollars through litigation and defense strategies.
Hannah also represents and defends employers in a full range of industries and labor and employment law matters. She has handled numerous complex wage and hour class action lawsuits as well as representative lawsuits brought under California’s Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA). Hannah also handles single plaintiff to multi-plaintiff actions with claims including harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and wrongful termination.
Hannah regularly advises employers on preventative measures to mitigate litigation arising from various issues including wage and hour compliance, leaves of absence, claims of discrimination and harassment, workplace safety issues, employee classification, independent contractor classification, mass layoff strategy, and management training.
She was listed on the Los Angeles Business Journal’s “2023 Leaders of Influence: Minority Attorneys,” “2022 Women of Influence,” and “2022 Leaders in Law,” has been recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star from 2016- 2023 and named in The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch (2021-2022).
Active in the legal community at the local and national level, she is the President of the Arab American Lawyers Association of Southern California and a founding steering committee member of the National Arab American Bar Association in Washington D.C. Hannah also serves on the Board of the Los Angeles Chapter of the National Human Resources Association and is one the founding members of its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council. Hannah also serves on the Board of the Association of Corporate Growth-101.
Hannah has presented on a variety of labor and employment topics including legal updates, wage and hour updates, best practices, leaves of absence, elimination of bias, anti-harassment and many other employment law areas. Over the past three years, Hannah presented approximately 200 webinars and conducted several in-person trainings. She has also authored and published dozens of articles, blogs and legal alerts.
